Michael T. Brown age 67,passed away suddenly on April 4, 2026, of a massive heart attack.
Mike was born on January 6, 1959, in Jacksonville, FL to the parents of Ronald J. Brown and Fay Brown.
Mike is survived by his devoted wife, Gerris and children, Michael J. Brown and Laura Brown. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Romnick, Jolina, Jathan, Kennesis and Sophis; siblings, Carla Wilson, Linda Tudor (Bill), Christina Green (Jim) and Steven Brown (Penny) and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents Ronald Brown Sr., Fay Brown and a brother, Ronald Brown, Jr.,
Mike was employed by United Healthcare as a lead coder of claims and had previously been employed by several large medical insurance companies in Jacksonville with various claims responsibilities.
Mike was a 1975 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School and was a member of the marching Band at Florida State University. While at FSU he had the opportunity to attend summer classes in Italy. He became very interested in his faith and converted to Catholicism.
Mike was an active member of Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church and served in various duties in the church.
Mike’s favorite things to do were studying his faith; he was an avid reader.
He loved to drive to St. Augustine on Saturday with Gerris and visit their favorite places.
Mike delighted in spending time with his grandchildren whenever he could.
He was a servant to his family and grandchildren. Always putting their needs before his. He was a quiet and gentle person and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
A Memorial Mass will be held, Friday, April 17, 2026, at 10:00 AM in Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 8523 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32221 with Father Izbicki officiating followed by interment in Gethsemane Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 800 Hammond Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32221.
The family will receive friends at Fraser Funeral Home, 8168 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, Fl 32221 on Thursday, April 16, 2026, from 6:00-8:00 PM with a Vigil Service at 7:00 PM.
Following the service on Friday, the family will be returning to Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church for a reception.
